2011 Historic Downtown Louisville ArtsFest

The ArtsFest is a unique, interactive community event where each attendee is invited to actively participate in a broad range of art expressions. Everyone is encouraged to explore, engage and experiment in the artistic process. You will enter the world of the artist’s studio and observe their respective methods and techniques. Browse the colorful exhibitions and demonstrations featuring a bevy of prominent Boulder County painters, potters, sculptors, woodworkers, print-makers, pastel artists, paper folders, jewelry-designers, photographers and metal smiths. Then immerse yourself in the process by participating in one of the many workshops held throughout the day; where you can dabble in mixed-media, learn a new dance, sketch a self-portrait, sing with a chorus, turn a vase, bang-out your drum rhythm and learn to mix a color palette. Throughout the event you will enjoy live music and performances on the open-air stage at Steinbaugh Pavilion, and satiate your appetite and quench your thirst by sampling farm fresh foods and beverages including locally produced beers and soft drinks from local chefs and artisan food suppliers. As the sun goes down on Front Street, the ArtsFest program swings into an evening of art infused films, lively discussions with local filmmakers, and of course – more delectable food and good fun under the stars. You’ll want to join in at the Bittersweet Backyard locale and share your experiences from the day! CALLING ALL ARTISTS The Louisville ArtsFest mission is to involve the public and artists in the community in making this a day to celebrate art. now to help create a unique interactive art experience that offers registered artists a wide breadth of art exposure. All artists interested in sharing their passion for the creative process are invited to call or email now to participate for free. Must register in advance to participate in demonstrating and/or selling your art. More than an outdoor art fair, the ArtsFest is a working studio, where participants have the rare opportunity to observe the artist at work, and to be inspired to engage in the many hands on art activities. Artists and art educators invite guests into their “street studio” to experiment with jewelry making, dance, music, or with moving a paintbrush across a canvas. The experience gives ArtsFest attendees from the community a new appreciation for individual artist’s works, with many taking the opportunity to sign up for future classes, buy art or order commissions. ArtsFest attracts artists excited by the opportunity to engage the public with a unique and fulfilling approach! LOUISVILLE IDOL If you are a singer consider how fun it would be to compete in the Louisville Idol contest at the ArtsFest on September 3rd in the Steinbaugh Pavilion.  The first round of the competition is 1:00 at DanaVMusic on Front Street in Louisville in the Art Underground.  The next round is in the Steinbaugh Pavillion and prizes will be awarded.  Winners of Louisville Idol get great prizes, and lots of applause and appreciation.
